I am interested in exploring the AC-21 option.
My sponsoring company is a big company and I think they wont revoke 140. 140 was approved in 2006. 485 filed in july,2007.
Any recommendation for AC-21 attorneys?

Of course Grassley Bill will give more restrictions. But it needs to be analysed whether it is right or wrong. The question is if you want to bring foreigners even if skilled persons are available for that job in USA. If answer is yes then the labor test and layoff provision is wrong. But if you really want to bring foreigners only if skilled persons are not available then the provision does not have any impact on the H1b program. And another provision 50% H1b rule will have only impact on bodyshoppers and Indian consulting companies. But not the H1b aspirants and in longterm that will encourage permanent job hiring in reputed companies.
And if you oppose CIR just for H1b conditions you are going to lose many benefits. Just one provision exclude dependents from EB cap will double or triple GC numbers. And many other provisions will make most or all categories current. I think this time Compete america will not oppose the CIR blindly just because of one provision as they realize what happened on 2007. Smart thing will be negotiate and get a compromise than getting nothing. This is going to be comprehensive bill and everyone will get benefit including anti immigrants. Otherwise nothing.

Though many anti-immigrants call H1B an offshoring visa, the fact is outsourcers don't need any visa to outsource. When new projects are implemented from the scratch in offshore locations, it cannot even be called 'offshoring'. Essentially these kinds of bills will make america a less competitive place for businesses.

Today it is easier for someone with some family ties to migrate to this country than one who brings in skills and competitiveness to USA. Skilled immigrants has to jump over many hurdles ( H1B/Labor /I-140/visa wait times) to get his GC. For a family based immigrant, the only requirement is he/she has to be related to someone in US. For a skilled immigrant, he has to prove that a job offer do exist for him all through the insane wait for his gc. For illegals it is even easier. They just have to prove that they were illegally present in US to qualify for his GC.
If U.S.A was United Socialist Amercia, Gutierrez/Grassley bill is the way to go. We all know what happened to GM where unions had the final say in worker compensation as well as performance.

I have travelled on Lufthanza several times with stopover at Frankfort. My parents who have a visitor visa to US travelled on Air France with stopover at Paris. In both cases, there was no need for any transit visa. As a general rule, you need a visa only if you are leaving the airport at the stopover Hub.

They looked at their document and with face that look cynical said that Walawala and his wife are 'ONLY' worker that come to this country and threathened they could have done something to harm their status. No point worrying over past. Go ahed and file a AR11 ASAP to make sure from now on USCIS has your updated address. In case in future this becomes an issue then contact a lawyer and try to resolve it.
But moving forward all non immigrants as well as GC holders should make sure they do not miss this important obligation to inform USCIS within 10 days of move. It is easy process and saves lots of trouble later on.

Please explain. When we go for FP, the names on the application forms must match the names on the passports, right ?.

...You want to try something against them. But what are we trying to prove?
Take it to court only if you think you want to sue them and get money. As other said, it is an expensive process on your side too.
If you just want to prove it is a "wrongful termination", you don't have to. In US eveyone knows what is "fired" means in this economy.
If you just want to be reinstated in the same position, it is difficult to continue the job in a private company, if they are not willing to employ you.
In few days, the urge will go away.
You will realise that your new job is much better than the one you left. Just enjoy.
You can lodge a complaint with DOL, USCIS, sue your employer, prove 'wrongful termination' etc. But unncessary load to carry.

I refused to sign this agreement and I was verbally threatened with dire consequences if I did not sign. They fired me yesterday for not signing it and also stated that they are canceling my H1. Would this be treated as wrongful termination? Is there any way that I can file a complaint with the DOL? Has the complaint to be filed thru an attorney or can I do it myself?

My first 3 years of H1B visa and I-94 expired on december,31,2009. My employer applied for my H1B renewal and got the approval notice (797A with I-94 part in the bottom valid from 1/1/2010 till end of 2012) expiring in end of 2012. I went to Canada for 4 days and got my 3 year visa extension stamped which is valid till end of 2012 for the same employer. They took off my old I-94 when I left to Canada and did not issue a new I-94 while entering the US. The officer just took a look at the 797 and said that I am good with the bottom part of the 797 itself and did not stamp any expiry date on the bottom part or did not issue a new I-94(white card).He just stamped the entry date and POE name on my passport. I checked with the CBP officer and she said that since the renewed visa and 797 is valid till end of 2012, I can use the bottom part of the 797 as the I-94 and it is valid till end of 2012. Is this correct?

I believe that I should get a new I-94,but the officer was not ready to believe that and kept saying that the 797 bottom part is enough.
