Upon reading various google searches, it appears some users hack in firmware into their ipods, couldn't one simply take the older firmware of the 5/5.5g video and place it into the 6g classic?

That signals to me that you may have synced his apps on to your iPad. Therefore when the AppStore show that it has updates available, it will update your apps (after logging in) and when it attempts to update the other apps (it requires his/hers account log in info as well. Happened to me before and the only way i found to get rid of that annoyance is to uninstall those apps and redownload them while you are logged into your account.

Yes because the "problematic disk" work fine on other devices.
Looks like it was a Roxio issue. The files played fine when i burned them from the smart burn folder.

We have discovered an issue using the latest firmware for the Cisco RV042 Router and Mac OX S. The firmware they had as most recent is 1.3.12.19-tm would cause web pages to hang, slow email loading and images on websites to not load when using a Mac. PC's running Windows had no issues. Cisco has just put their older firmware version 1.3.12.6-tm back up on the support page so that it is possible to downgrade to the version firmware that has no issues with Macs in this regard.
We have been working with Cisco for the last week and they are working on a possible fix. In the meantime, anyone using a Mac and the RV042 should make sure they are using the 1.3.112.6-tm firmware if they have having similar issues.

Sorry for the delay, to answer the questions:
1. You don't have to get a data plan with the phone. Just pop in your sim card and you're set.
2. This CAN be unlocked by various means however it will not come unlocked.
3. Yes, it is still for sale.

What sort of display and GPU do you have (maybe what Mac too)? Have you played around with the Color Preferences within Displays in System Preferences? :)

This is the second one of these I found in the woods behind my house.
They are semi-soft, and look like they might be an egg of some type, though at first I thought they were man-made because of the perfect seam that runs around the center.
ANyone have any idea what this is?

I was hoping someone could let me know if they have the Frank Sinatra 24x36 Think Different Poster. This is the one where he is standing in a grey suit in front of a mic and a music stand. Thank you for anyone's help!

I think it's for their self-serve ad system.
What's up with the whole big new relaunch beta thing. When they went down, I started to think they were trying the movie business:confused:

SOunds like HDD or RAM to me...got any mates you can borrow a known good 128MB DIMM from that you could pop in there just to prove RAM one way or the other, same for the HDD?
hey edesignuk, thank u so much for ur reply!
ya, do u think it's a RAM issue? i thought it might have to be cuz there's not much else it could be, but i didn't think it'd act the way it is... i have a dual 1.8 G5, but i dunno if i could use that RAM cuz it's PC3200, 400 MHZ.. it wouldn't work in the G4, right?
and what's "HDD"?

Hey Guys! I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2.1 and I have used my given share of data from the service provider. I would like to know if there is any way around to use internet tethering without getting any additional data charge. Thanks.

What Mac OS X version do you have?
If you have Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard you can reinstall Mac OS X without losing your data and it should restore it to a working OS.
I presume you don't have any backups?
Btw, what method or application(s) did you use to alter the look of Mac OS X?

I think I may pull the trigger on one of these deals in a few months, when Lion comes out. I don't want to have to re-install the OS after getting one with Snow Leopard.
Alternatively, I can wander into an Apple Retail Store and see what custom configurations they have, I have a credit card limit set, that's why I have to resort to either buying straight from retail (and pay using a debit card) or eBay using Paypal. I wish the online Apple Store took interac Debit cards.

Question for the masses...
I am not doing any photo editing, but I going to be running GNS3 which is networking simulation program used to simulate Cisco and Juniper networking devices and it is very CPU intensive.
I am currently running it on a 13'' MBP 2.4 ghz C2D and it runs at 75-85% cpu.
If I maxed out the MBA , do you think that it could handle it or am I just wasting my time and money and I should just get the 15'' quadcore as planned?
Thanks in advance!

Any updates? I may go look at BB and Target this afternoon, but I assume Apple will have the most in stock. No waiting in line for me. If i have to wait till tomorrow when they'll undoubtedly restock, so be it.

I have a pretty strange issue. I have a home network with 3 windows computers, and 1 MacBook Pro (Feb11).
All the computers can ping each other in any combination/direction except the Mac can't ping the Win7 computer. (I have 2 XP, 1 Win7, and OSX10.6).
I turned the firewall on the Win7 machine off, and still no luck. Eventually I went ahead and tried to mount the Win7 share on the Mac, and that worked. Then, once the share was mounted, I could ping it just fine (and connect with other network stuff that I was trying to originally).
If the harddrive goes to sleep, the share unmounts, as normal, then when it wakes back up, the ability to ping etc, is gone again until I remount, then it's all back.
Basically: The Win7 machine can ping the Mac just fine, the workgroups are all set properly, and it can ping the IP of all my other machines, and other machines can ping the Win7. But the Mac can only ping the win7 if it has its share mounted.
Any ideas?

I had a friend use my SB800 on his Canon, I don't think all of the features worked, but in manual mode it worked fine.

Your Mac will automatically discover shared devices on your network and make them available to you in the sidebar, regardless of if you're sharing yourself. I assume that's what you mean by "someone else's desktop" being "there."
As for running slow, open up Activity Viewer and see if there is something that's eating up a lot of your computer's resources.

FCP reported that it could't export MPEG2 cos DVDSP wasn't authorised the other day, I launched DVDSP and the problem vanished.
Are you using the MPEG componant for OSX or the one that gets installed with DVDSP?
I think the update is for the stand alone componant.
Just a thought, why don't you use Cleaner 6, it renders MPEG2 much better than QT but is slower (and more expensive)
