Folks! MSNBC is organizing a gut check on the immigration issue (though this appears to be on issues related to illegal immigration). It's a message board inviting opinions on immigration with an expert panel set to reply to the meesages posted. Eventually, messages will be short-listed for publishing. We may be able to make an opportunity out of this.

Has anyone claimed unemployment benefits in EAD in TX state after being laid off? Can you please tell whats the procedure. I do not want to get into the debate of whether UB can be claimed while in AOS state? I just need to know the procedure. Thanks.
If you just need the procedure and no discussion then why not call the unemployment office in your local area and find out yourself.

I had the same problem last year.
1. Attorney Aron Finkelstein in Sheila murthy office helped me out.
This is what we did, We filed an MTR to consider my case in Eb3, with it we also attached a new application for Eb3 and specified in Mtr, to consider our new application if they fail to accept my MTR. My new application for Eb3 was approved.
I cant help you on your EAd and stuff ,as I know your EAD becomes invalid immediately once your 485 is denied, which will be denied if your underlying 140 application is denied.
I would suggest, you contact a attorney soon.
My suggestions are my experience and stuff, I am not an attorney to give you legal advise.

online recipt date will show as 7/31 but that is not recipt date..u should be able to 7/2 in the acutal original notice..same thing happened to me..so dont worry

EB-3-I is stuck in 01...not likely to move till Oct and then in OCT08..it will move by couple three months for the next 12 months till OCT 09..What are the option for EB-3 stuck here..from 01, 02, 03 ....
1) Convert to EB-2 ?.
2) wait for legislation from Logfren to pass
3) wait another 3 years...already in the Queue from 01..
If I choose to convert to EB-2..I have to put in a PERM and then I-140..what is the time line for getting my LC thro PERM and then my I-140 in EB2 cleared?? based on the current processing times..
Do I wait to see if Logfren's legislation goes thro ..if doesnt go with the conversion to EB-2...???
Please help me decide...

mpillai ,Got it now. I couldn't think of that point before. I myself 'm eligible for Eb2 but had to file my GC in Eb3 due to rules/regulations and very conservative giant company.

I hate the fact, we let ourselves be discussed amongst the ILLEGAL immigration pool. We are not here illegally, there is no reason we should call this "GC for sale". We are helping the govt. by not just words but with our $$$.
We are here legally , paying taxes, paying rents etc. This fee is meant to speed up processing. No other terminology should be used at IV. Let anti-immigrants talk what they want.
Please remember, at any point there are always opposing forces at work. For those anti-immigrants I have no time or energy to ponder on there xenophobic reservations.
Lets not forget, America was and continues to prosper because of hardworking and honest immigrants..
