I did call them several times in an attempt to talk to different individuals, but all them have said try contacting the area post office. I don't think area post office will be able to give any other information.

I want to buy a franchise and start my own business.
later on I want to apply for my GC.
How did you manage to pull this one off ? you got an EAD without applying for GC ?!!

Can we contact journos like Neil Cavuto, Sheryl Casone to talk about how giving GC to legals like us can stimulate economy in someway?
I noticed these Business section journos are endlessly talking about ways to prevent the recession.
We can suggest them to talk about recapturing of visas & giving the legals GCs as it can contribute towards (to some extent) a possible stimualtion to the economy(it will surely add to the percentage...) surely we are boosting the spending by making high earning legals spend more on say housing or Autos by giving them GCs...
Not sure if IV gurus are thinking on these lines.

Below is my understanding as I searched for answer sometime back.
yes, you can change employer. You have to get into similar job. The only problem is your H1 extension. For that, the old employer should not revoke the I 140. You old labor should be valid until you finish the GC process.
If anyone thinks othewise, letme know.
There is a major thread in this forum about changing jobs after 140 and keeping old PD if we file new labor and 140 with new employer. Many people even confirmed this with their lawyers, now why is the issue of Ac21 not invokable coming up?? If you have approved 140 go ahead, get your 3 yr extension of h1b and transfer it to some other employer, only problem, you have to restart the process but will get old PD after labor.

This should also act as an eyeopener for those people on H-1B who are just about now starting their GC process. Such people can forget getting a GC for the next 12-15 years.
If you are young (in late 20s), you should reevaluate this whole idea of coming here on EB GC. It maynot be worth the wait and the suffering.

The eternal optimist in me says that by the end of 2010, everyone who could file during July 07 will get their GC. This will happen due to CIR/STEM Exemption/Recapture combination. I hope my words come true!!!!

I Agree there are some particularly bright ideas about fund raising but I dont think there is any significant variety in opinions regarding immigration floating around that we might miss. I would rather have people put their opinions into practise (by contributing) rather than simply share them.

I had my FP done at San Jose ASC and It took us around 15 min for the entire process of filling the forms,waiting to be called for FP and doing the actual FP.
The lady asked me to sign on an electronic pad(some people reported that they were asked to write their full name and sign at the bottom) which I did and she gave us some feedback forms to fill out and drop in the suggestion box.
It was easy for me to locate the ASC because i used to commute by Charcot drive to take 87 on my way back home from my old office :)
A friend of mine went without the receipt. Only his wife had the receipt. They printed his receipt right there... Even tho his appnt was a week later they did his FP the same day... he had no problems with the security guard... I guess its just ur luck!
