The warranty company said that in the first four months since the release of the iPhone 4, the smartphone has 82% more claims for shattered screens compared to iPhone 3GS figures from the summer of 2009.
In interview with ComputerWorld, Vince Tseng, vice president of marketing for SquaeTrade, said that the handset's glass back may be causing the surge in claims.
"You now have twice as much glass to scratch or break," Tseng said. Previous iPhone models such as the 3GS had a plastic back.

It's strange coming from GNU/Linux to Mac OS X and it's one-way attitude.

This may seem like a stupid question -- but what's the advantage of 'jailbreaking'? Disadvantage?
Not a dumb question at all!
If you jailbreak, you can install apps, themes, and tweaks that Apple didnt apple into the app store, you can do some plist edits to enable features. But it voids your warranty, although a restore pretty much fixes that.

Earlier today, a MacRumors reader notified us that the white iPhone 4 is ever so slightly larger than the black iPhone 4. It's a small difference, but enough that the white iPhone 4 wouldn't fit in his Incase slider case:<p class="quote">Just picked up the white iPhone 4 and realized it doesn't fit into my Incase slider case. :confused:hello um i hav an ipod touch and it keeps saying it cant connect to the internet on like some of the games i hav on there it also says it for the mail,youtube,stocks,maps.weather,itunes,and others.
but i hav a computer at home and it has internet so idk y it wont work for mi ipod touch wen im at home.
does it has somthing to do with mi home computer or mi ipod touch please please help and give spesific step bi step instructions thanx:confused:

From Terminal you can use the following to find references to where MySQL may be installed, then you can browser there and check the created/modified dates to see if they match with when you were installing.
sudo find / -name "mysql" -print
The command may take a few minutes to complete.

Hi Guys,
My wifes 3GS is having an issue with signal. It keps losing signal for no reason. Im on the same network and have no issues.
I search for available carriers and none are found. Then all of a sudden the signal will return and be normal.
A 'Genius' looked at it and said the phone needs replacing. Didn't try and diagnose the issue. Phones out of warranty so it's �140 for the pleasure. Don't really want to do that as we're not far off the upgrade date of the contract.
Any ideas? I would have thought if it was hardware it would be out all the time?

I have to agree with Cabbit here, if you hope to have successful business with a successful website you need to step away from iWeb. HTML and CSS are relatively simple to pick up and with HTML5 and CSS3 giving you more options then ever before.
To answer your query, you're going to need jQuery to get the results you require. If learning the skills you need isn't an option, then get someone in to create something - chances are if iWeb has met most of your needs to this point then a web designer should be able to create/code something for you in a few days.

i recently installed 10.3 alongside OS9 on my sister's G4. it was having semi-frequent crashes so i thought i'd reinstall OSX, formatting the HD and therefore getting rid of OS9 for a "cleaner" install..
so i installed 10.3, ran the software update for 10.3.7, and then it crashed again in the middle of the update so i had to reboot. upon rebooting, it kept stalling at "Initializing (*or something) Login Window"... and NOW whenever i try to Erase and Install, the computer consistently crashes (telling me to reboot or power off) at around 3 min left of the install.. around the time it says "Installing Base Subsystem 2... 65%"
can anyone please offer any help?? i honestly have no idea what's wrong with it or how to fix it... i've run Disk Utility several times.. erasing both the volume and the HD.. i even "reset to zeros" and still the same result.. i'm completely baffled that i could still be having any kind of problems installing the OS after completely erasing and zeroing the HD..

As for practical reasons why someone would actually care? Only case I even heard that could potentially be affected is the incase slider...
I got a white iPhone at Verizon yesterday. Tested the Incase Slider on it, and it went on just fine.

Most certainly unregistered. My 2009 shipped with 6x2GB and those are unregistered chips. I don't expect any of the Apple ones to be registered but the 8GB sticks.

But I had expand it seriously. All nerds know that using ones hand to count to 5 is just not good use of resources. So redundant. Why not count all the way from 0 to 31 with that same hand...? Of course with 2 hands I could have kept on going all the way to 1023, but that would be a bit boring eventually, wouldn't it? :D
It's like the (good) old joke: There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't. ;)
A small note: The 'tar should have been transparent, but ImageReady (CS) doesn't render it properly. Don't know how to get rid of some slicing and some tweens that have gotten into the animation, and after a long night trying and failing, I'm on the verge of giving up on transparency... :( :o

I think I have read somewhere that 120GB HDD is the max size supported internal HD for the G4 Sawtooth and 2GB RAM was the max RAM? I just wanted to find out if this was correct.
Also, I have my B&W G3 that I want to turn into a media center so does anyone know the maximum ammount of HD this will support and RAM too.

Crossloop works pretty well. I've used it when I worked in a NOC and it works PC-Mac, Mac-PC, Mac-Mac, etc. Easy to install and it relies on a access code to share with the person you want to have access to your desktop.
